You Know About Tito's?

Our clients have varied ideas of what a "taco" actually is.  For us here at the section for limousine Los Angeles, it begins with a corn tortilla folded and fried, then filled with lettuce, plenty of shredded cheese, and some salty ground beef. You know, tacos!

There is a place that personifies our idea of a taco.  Far from our offices in Culver City, looming in the shadows of the 405, Tito's Tacos has a long history of serving the perfect taco.  The ones we may recall from our childhood.
Tito's offers a mix of Mexican staples, including chicken tamale and a tasty salsa Roja, but most LA limo service clients head to Tito's for the tacos! The ones like mom used to make well before we knew of Chipotle.  The tacos come with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese and iceberg lettuce.  The only meat available is beef, with seasonings that bring back the tastes of youth.

The tacos, upon first sight, seem to be an updated version of the taco-pack style we remember. The tortilla shells have been fried and have imperfections that allow one to believe a real human hand was part of the process. 

There are no Taco Bell sauce packets available here, as a large window gives one access to a steam table with scoopable contents.  It shouldn't take anyone more than a bite or two to shatter the illusion.

Back in time, the fried taco shell suffered from an issue of leakage of wetness.  The meats and grease slide throughout the taco shell.  You are likely to end up with a bit of a mess, caked in wet lettuce, beefy bites, and lots of cheese! Be sure to add some of the pale pink salsa to moisten the taco even further without adding too much heat.

On most nights Tito's is packed and long lines are formed. It's a fun stop for our Los Angeles limousine clients to enjoy eating the hard-shell tacos of their youth.  You would be hard-pressed to find anybody willing to compare these tacos to some of the more sensible choices on the Westside.

Tito's Tacos not only provides a great taco but has the best memories.  Most locals have spent a few lazy nights waiting in the lines here or grew up here and have Tito's in the soul.
